Village Volnay from Dominique Lafon. Volnay is known for perfumed, finely textured Pinot Noir, and this is a floral, mid-weight example.
Tasting notes (retailer): Perfumed and floral with delicate notes of cherries, dried strawberries, flowers and earth. The midweight palate has fine-grained tannins and a plush, rounded mouthfeel that balances minerality and high-toned fruit. There’s so much early-drinking pleasure here with great aging potential. Delicious.
Region: Volnay, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Style: Pinot Noir
